J Alvey Pest Control is a family-run business established in 1979. The people behind the service combine decades of family experience with current professional methods, clear advice and a practical understanding of homes, businesses and land across the North West.

John Alvey (Little John) – co-owner and director
John grew up around the pest-control business founded by his father, John Edward Alvey, known as Big John. He has a background in Environmental Health and learned the practical side of the work alongside his father. Today he combines that experience with modern professional methods and oversees the technical and customer-facing work of Alvey Group Ltd.
John’s approach is straightforward: identify the problem carefully, explain what the treatment can and cannot do, and make the scope and price clear before work proceeds.
Marie Alvey – co-owner and director
Marie works with John on the day-to-day running of the business, appointments and customer care. Her role helps keep communication, scheduling and follow-up consistent from the first enquiry through to the end of the job.
How we work
When you contact us, we gather the details needed to identify the likely pest, check the address and access, and choose the appropriate service. We explain the work clearly and are open about follow-up, safety and anything outside the agreed scope.
Our founders – John Edward Alvey (Big John) and Angela Alvey
John Edward Alvey established J Alvey Pest Control in 1979 after working as a qualified local-authority Pest Control Officer. He built the business around experience, reliability and honest advice. Angela played an important part in its administration, customer relationships and continuity as the family business grew.
Alvey Group Ltd now operates the J Alvey Pest Control service, with John, Marie and the team carrying those values forward.

Professional standards
We are a BPCA member and use professional products and methods within their authorised conditions. The right approach depends on the species, property, access and level of activity, so we avoid promising that every problem will be resolved in one visit. We explain likely follow-up, preparation, safety requirements and any work outside the quoted scope.
