John Alvey (Little John) – Co-Owner & Director
John, known to many as "Little John," took over Alvey Group Ltd. to continue the family legacy established by his father, John Edward Alvey (Big John), in 1979 under the original name, J Alvey Pest Control. With a background in Environmental Health and a lifelong apprenticeship in pest control alongside his father, Little John brings a wealth of experience, blending traditional pest control methods with modern techniques to provide effective and reliable service. His commitment to upholding the business’s values of honesty, integrity, and exceptional customer care ensures the Alvey name remains a trusted one across the North West.
Marie Alvey – Co-Owner & Director
Marie is a co-owner and director, working closely with her husband, John, to manage the day-to-day operations of the business. With a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to customer satisfaction, Marie ensures each client receives the care and attention they deserve. Together, John and Marie have expanded on the principles laid down by Big John, keeping the business family-focused and customer-centered, just as it has always been.
Andy Robinson – Pest Control Technician
Andy is a dedicated Pest Control Technician with extensive experience in managing all types of pest issues. Known for his practical skills and friendly approach, Andy works closely with customers to provide professional and effective solutions. His hands-on expertise makes him a valued member of the Alvey team, embodying the business’s commitment to quality service and integrity.
Our Founders – John Edward Alvey (Big John) & Angela Alvey
The business was originally established as J Alvey Pest Control by John Edward Alvey (Big John) in 1979, following his successful career as a qualified Pest Control Officer with the Local Authority. With a dedication to blending traditional and modern pest control methods, Big John built a reputation for reliability, honesty, and customer-focused service. Angela, his wife, was instrumental in growing and sustaining the business. Her contributions to operations and customer relations helped secure the company’s position as a trusted name in pest control across the North West.
Throughout the years, the company has remained a true family business, with every member—even the family dogs—playing a part in its success. Today, under the new name Alvey Group Ltd., the business continues through Little John, Marie, and the team, who carry forward the values of quality service, integrity, and a commitment to doing right by customers, just as Big John and Angela always did.
